Preparing for Rosh Hashanah Luncheon with Shira Berk

Happy New Year from Goodie Girl Cookies. Here are a few of Shira’s favorite Rosh Hashanah dishes as she prepares for her annual Rosh Hashanah luncheon.



Congietelle Salad

Big conch like pasta room temp with sautéed mushrooms garlic wilted arugula basil ricotta parmessan fontana and Pecora no. 3 lbs pasta zest of 3 lemons and lemon juice.


Roasted Corn and Edamame Salad


Honey Almond Biscotti

Sweet new year. After all the crazy eating and fattening food this one is my favorite sweet ending. No added fat or eggs.

2 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup ground almonds or almond flour
.5 teas cinnamon
.5 tea baking soda
.75 tea baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup warm water
1/3 cup strong honey
3/4 cup roasted almonds

Pre Heat oven to 350
Dissolve honey in warm water. Add vanilla.
Mix all ingredients in food processor
Wet hands a bit to form into logs
2 logs
Bake 30 minutes
Cool 10
Slice horizontally
Turn oven to 300
Bake another 20 minutes
Store airtight
