I know what you all think goes down at women’s magazines during afternoon “snack time.” Celery sticks and soy nights, right? “No thanks, I’m on a juice cleanse” right? Wrong.
Honestly, here in the Glamour offices, our mid-afternoon feeding time often consists of cupcakes, pastries, bagels…it’s pretty much like a carbohydrate and frosting murder scene. (But that doesn’t mean you should follow our lead. In fact, Glamour DON’T!) As the resident gluten-free staffer, it can be rather depressing having to decline every wheat-laden treat that crosses my desk.
That is, until I happened upon the genius of Goodie Girl Tribeca cookies. My good friend and Glamour web editor Meredith passed them along to me when she discovered they were GF, and OMG seriously—these cookies are heaven. I mean, they even make a gluten-free and egg-free version of a Thin Mint. A THIN MINT, PEOPLE! (I know, you’re freaking out too). With varieties ranging from Peanut Butter Sandwich to Quinoa Chocolate Chip, there really is something for everyone. Best part is that you would never know in a million years they are OK for those of us who have to steer clear of gluten. Plus, I don’t feel guilty eating them at 65 to 90 cals a cookie. Not bad at all!
Gluten free—is it the way to be? What’s your guilty pleasure afternoon snack?
